DaVinci Cowl II Tuscany
Limited time offer….put three or more patterns in your cart for an automatic 25% discount off the total. No coupon code required.
I have now included a second PDF with this pattern for you to download if you wish. It is a list of frequently asked questions about the original DaVinci Cowl but the answers will be helpful with this pattern as well.
Another fun and easy colour pooling cowl where the yarn is the showstopper.
The pattern will show you how to find the perfect number of stitches to create the gorgeous pooling of colour. I call this “cracking the code” and once you know how to do this you will never look at variegated yarn the same. Best of all, it’s easy to find your number!
The robust shades of these yarns inspired me to create a versatile reversible looking cowl that can be worn in different ways, each showing off the richness and depth of colour.
Wear it as a cowl or on cool and windy days wear it as a head scarf.
However you decide, you will look gorgeous!
The cowl is knit with two sizes of needles. The (simple) lace contrast rows are knit on smaller needles and the larger sections are stitched with the larger needles. Changing needles is easy to do.
This makes for a softly flowing feel to the cowl and makes it drape beautifully over your head and shoulders.
But, if you prefer you can use the smaller needles for the entire cowl, it will be lovely either way. Choose which you like best.
Note: I used a total of 379 yards of the solid colour called Deep Cove and 370 yards of the multi colour yarn called Phoenix Rising
I have a photo tutorial thread in my group showing how simple the lace stitch is. It is post #216
