This pattern was designed and test-knitted in just one day and night; but that’s only one part of the reason why it’s called Day&Night.
Another part is in the design itself. One half of the mitten is made in white on dark blue background (and I call it Night), and the other half is reversed - dark on white (Day part). The charts in the PDF have both Day and Night variants for mitts and thumbs, so you don’t get confused knitting.
You can make two identical mittens, or create any combination of Days and Nights on your mitts.
