Days of Flowers is my dream-cardigan!
I have wanted to work an overall lace-patterned cardigan for ages, but never found the perfect yarn for it.
When Martin Lab’s sportweight yarn “Aubrey” turned up I knew that this was the perfect match!

In my climate I love to have a cardigan nearby for cool days of spring and chilly summer-nights. It should be romantic, not too heavy, with a lovely drape and match jeans, skirts, dresses.
Days of Flowers will be much used in the coming months.

Design
The main-feature of the cardigan is above all the lace! I used it everywhere, except for the hem, cuffs, button-band and neckline worked in rib-pattern. The use of 2 colours is also a nice feature, but I honestly think that the garment would be equally nice in one colour only. Up to you to choose:)
The shape of the cardigan is classic; the body is a tad bit on the short side, short sleeves, crew neck, raglan-shaping.

Construction
The cardigan is worked bottom-up and seamlessly.
The neckline and button-bands are worked from picked-up sts.

Sizes
Finished chest-circumference:
31.5/34/37/39.5/42/44.5/47.5/50/53/55”.
The sample is worked in size 1, with no ease.
I recommend 0 - 5 cm/0 - 2” of ease.
(but I also dream about making an over-sized version).

Materials
Yarn: I recommend that you use a sport weight yarn, that knits up to gauge, to work the cardigan. I used “Aubrey”, from Martins Lab, to work my cardigan. As main-colour (MC) I used “Youthful Coral”, as contrasting colour (CC) I used “Banyan”. This sport weight, silk/Bluefaced Leicester yarn, comes in skeins of 100 gr/3.53 oz and 300 m/328 yards. You will need approximately 575/650/725/800/875/950/1025/1100/1175/1250 m = 626/708/790/872/953/1030/1117/1200/1362 yards of MC, 150 – 300 m = 164/328 yards (smallest size to largest size) of CC, of this specific yarn to work the cardigan. Count for more yarn if you add length to body/sleeves.
Needles: 3 mm/US2.5 (or size to obtain gauge.
Notions: Buttons, 14 - 15 mm/0.55 - 0.6” across.
4 removable stitch-markers. Waste-yarn. Blunt tapestry needle.
Blocking tools.

Gauge
24 sts and 32-34 rows in lace-pattern = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4”.

The pattern
The lace-pattern of the lower body is charted, as well as written out.
The lace-pattern of the sleeve and upper body is charted only.
Keep in mind that this is the same lace-pattern as used for the lower body.
There is a schematic. Measurements in both cm’s and inches.
All necessary stitch-counts are given.

Skil level: intermediate.
Techniques used: picking up sts, grafting/kitchener (underarm sts). You should be able to work lace following a chart.
The lace is repetetive.
