Note
This Hat is Knitted from the crown to the brim.
For this hat, it’s best to use a yarn that does not show clear stitch definition. For example, bouclé, flake, spiral, loop, feather yarns etc. All these fancy yarns create indefinite stitches so that the irregular increase lines in this hat won’t show. The pattern uses Woolfolk Flette Bulky yarn which is a type of a bouclé yarn.
The Shape of this bucket hat is unique in that the crown takes its round shape from a square piece. And the brim stands firmly by itself without an additional wire insertion through the gauge difference created by the different needle sizes.
The brim is intended to curl up slightly. You can amend its shape to your preference either by rolling it up more or flattening it down.
For better fitting, this hat is to be worn with 0~2” negative ease.
