In the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game, the mimic is a type of
fictional monster. It is portrayed as being able to change its shape to disguise its body as an inanimate object, commonly a chest. This little guy came into being after my son described him to me and asked me to knit one for him to hold his dice. As I used an after 8 box as the form, it can also neatly hide one as a gift :)
Knit flat in dk - apart from the tongue, which was chunky yarn for stiffness - you could use dk & a pipe cleaner. Lots of Crochet patterns, this is one for the knitters.
