This pattern was written as I knitted the hat, with no additional testers. If you find errors or need clarification, please feel free to PM me via Ravelry.
Pattern name means Soft, Leafy in Welsh/Cymraeg.
Close-fitting leaf lace beanie or chemo cap is knitted in soft bulky or worsted, solid, tonal, heathered, gradient, or tweed yarn.
Seed-stitch band is knitted flat, then joined to knit in the round, and finished by a button or medallion sewn through both layers.
Directions are given in both written and charted format.
Size is “One Size Fits Most” teen to adult, with a little negative ease.
Materials needed:
- Bulky yarn in the neighborhood of 120 yds to 100gr, 1 skein. Model hat took 70gr of bulky, approx. 85 yards
- OR Worsted weight (220yds to 100gr), less than 1 skein
- Circular needle or DPNs in US9 (5.5mm) for bulky or US6 (4.5mm) for worsted
- DPNs needed for decreases
- One funky or vintage button or medallion
- Stitch marker for beginning of round, if you want to use one
