De Morgan Cowl
Featuring stranded colourwork knitted in the round, with a picot edging, this cowl is inspired by the Persianware ceramics of William De Morgan in Birmingham Museum which are characterised by the use of turquoise and blue. The design incorporates one of his most popular flower motifs.
Originally designed for the Yarningham 2018 brochure, the pattern is now available as a download. The cowl may be worked as a DK-weight version (in cobalt/turquoise) using WYS Wensleydale Gems, which is reminiscent of the colours of typical De Morgan Persianware, or as an aran-weight version using Rowan Kid Classic (the cream/turquoise version shown).
