This one-skein, crescent-shaped shawl has a little story: A very dear friend of mine happens to live in Truro, England, and she sent me a package of some of the most beautiful ombré striped yarn I’d ever seen. Truro is also the setting of one of my favorite series, the 2015 “Poldark”. One of my favorite characters is Demelza: a wild child who becomes refined after being taken in by Ross Poldark, who sees something in her beyond the unpolished exterior. She’s strong, beautiful, generous, gracious, and knows where and with whom her heart belongs. This shawl had to be named after her. If you prefer to use something other than an ombré or gradient yarn, try a mini skein set, or just gather your scraps and oddments of sock yarn! I used one 100 gram ball of yarn for this project. The yarn I used is listed as Sport Weight, but seems equivalent to fingering/sock weight.
