“Looks what we found Dearest! What is its? Whatever its is, it lookses wooly. Can we shears it?”

The comment was cut short by what Dizzbo could only call a cough. “Oinkum! Oinkum!”

Taking several large steps away from the once-pig, and brandishing his needles, Dizzbo introduced himself.

“Hello. My name is Dizzbo Sheepskins, and I happen to be a Sheepit.”

“A sheepsits, Dearest? We like fibers from bunnies and goatses, but we’ve never tried sheepsits before. Is it soft? Is its fluffy? Let us touch its!”

And with those words, Dizzy began his adventure… The Sheepit, A Sheepit’s Tail: There And Baaa-ck Again. (Credit, with all due respect, to J. R. R. Tolkien)

Starting with a garter stitch tab, YO increases at both edges and center form a gentle crescent shape.

Due to the large number of stitches, a circular needle is used, but shawl is worked flat in stockinette and lace stitches.

Shawl size is most easily modified using a heavier yarn/larger needle or thinner yarn/smaller needle rather than adjusting the number of stitches. Adjusting the stitch count will change how the increase points flow into the lace border.
