Death by I-Cords
We Love Stripes and this is the perfect pattern for those 2 contrasting skeins of fingering weight yarn that you have been hoarding for just the right project!!
Death by I-Cords is a great adventurous beginner knit as it is full of basic garter stitch but will keep things interesting for the more advanced knitter with a little twist of I-cords all throughout!
You will find a helpful tutorial on our YouTube Channel Cozy Up Knits that will get you through the cast on and the first I-cord section. You will get a good visual for what is happening with the written instructions in the pattern.
You will need:
2 full skeins (approx. 430 yards each or more) of 2 colors that have HIGH CONTRAST.
Yarn pictured is by Polkadot Creek in her Mountain Berry and Espresso.
Size 4mm needles and cord length 30- 40 inches.
The shawl is knit tip to tip with 50% of your yarn being used for the increases and 50% for the decreases. You will not need a super long cord as you knit half way and then decrease back down.
Finished Shape is a Symmetrical Triangle and measures approx. 65” by 22” after blocking.
We hope you enjoy this pattern and have fun playing with colors!!
Happy Knitting!
