Why is it always the hat photo?
Perhaps it’s because this ear hat blends in so perfectly with the 221 B decor. Ideal for stalking deer and criminals alike, the hat features the unforgettable Baker St wallpaper (a variation of this amazing pattern).

The hat coordinates with ‘The Game is On’ fingerless mittens and with the ‘Knitting is boring’ infinity scarf (you can find both on my projects page).

The ear flaps are knitted first, and incorporated into the hat. Aside from the ear flaps, the hat is knitted entirely in the round, using standard stranded techniques for two-colour knitting. The finished hat is edged with black wool, for neat finish.

Materials:
Naturally Loyal Aran/10-ply, 100% wool
(A) Black – 2 skeins (100 g)
(B) Grey – 1 skein (50 g)
1 set of 4 DPNs size 4.5 mm
Circular needle (40 cm) size 4.5 mm
Circular needle (80 cm) size 4.0 mm
Stitch markers, stitch holder, tapestry needle

Gauge: 20 sts per 10 cm on 4.5 mm needles

Size: Women’s S-M (head circumference 52-56 cm). You can adjust sizing by changing your gauge.
