Death Star socks
I was knitting a pair of Mrs.Elizabeth Zimmermann’s sideway socks when it struck me that the mosaic pattern she employed looked strikingly like the lighted wall-panels lining the hallways of the Death Star (and other places, but the Death Star firstly). So I tweaked the design a bit and made a pair of Star Wars-inspired footwear! I love subtle references like this that are not obvious or even noticeable to most; there’s no bold-faced type, but it screams I LOVE STAR WARS nonetheless, for those that know to read it.
Takes a hundredish ? or so (I didn’t measure) yards of dark grey yarn and a small bit of white, worsted weight, knit flat and then seamed, making a pair of thick, grown-foot-sized ankle socks.
Knit and enjoy and may the force be with you - always ✨
Soli Deo Gloria
