Perfect for those leftover scraps of a treasured hand-dyed yarn, or a miniature skein picked up at a festival, these mitts are a quick and easy knit that evoke falling leaves and crisp weather. With only two strands at any time and easy, repeating rounds, this pattern is a great way to practice colorwork knitting.

This pattern was specifically crafted to highlight a highly variegated yarn. Skills used in this pattern are twisted ribbing, knitting in the round, gusset increases, and 2-stranded colorwork. This pattern is suitable for an adventurous beginner.

The sample was knit in Miss Babs’ 2-Ply Toes, which are 133-yard mini skeins; it used the full skein of solid main color and about half of the variegated contrast color. You can use any combination of leftover fingering weight yarn as it suits you. I recommend between 130-150 yards of the MC and 100 yards of the CC.
