Decorative knitted maple Leaf
Errata: Large leaf, Page 11, Row 84 - correct: 1selv.st, k8, w&t
Decorative knitted maple leaf. Give the gift of autumn colors with this wonderful decorative piece that brightens the mood of any recipient!
Use on it’s own as coaster or as an embellishment for a multitude of objects: scarves, wraps, hats, jackets, sweaters, fabric bags, decorative pillows and anything else you can think of. Make a miniature one for a brooch, or one from bulky yarn for a hallway mat.
Detailed instructions with photographs contain row-by-row description for leaves in three different sizes.
Besides the indicated yarn that the sample was knit with, this motif may be worked from any other yarn weight as well. The thinner the yarn, the smaller the resulting leaf, the thicker the yarn, the larger the leaf.
Size: “Small leaf”- 12 ? 10,5cm ( 4,7 ? 4,1 in), “Medium leaf”- 18 ? 17cm (7 ? 6,6 in),“Large leaf” - 20 ? 22cm (7,8 ? 8,6 in).
Finished size: depending on yarn weight used and motif worked (small, medium or large leaf).
Yarn: Zitron Filigran Lace?1 (100 gr/ 600 m). Any, from lace weight for a brooch to super bulky or tarn for a floor mat.
Gauge: 28 sts and 34 rows = 10 cm ? 10 cm (4 x 4 inches) in garter stitch.
Depending on yarn weight used.
Needles: 2mm (UK14, US 0)
Matching the yarn used. Use ball band for reference.
Selvedge stitches: In this pattern, the first stitch of every row is always slipped, the last always worked as indicated in instructions (k on RS, p on WS).
