Knitted Decorative Sunflower
Give the gift of autumn colors with this wonderful decorative piece that brightens the mood of any recipient! You can use this decorative element for the front part of the pillow, sew to bag, scarf or blanket.
The principle of work is similar to the “Water Lily”, but for this design I’ve changed a little leaves shape and size.
Yarn:
A (green): Malabrigo Silky Merino 37 Lettuce – 30g
B (yellow-orange): Malabrigo Chunky 96 Sunset - 30g
For this Sunflower, I have separated a 3-ply Malabrigo yarn, Chunky, into 1-ply. Ready-to-use yarn is available from Silky Merino, but only in a limited color range.
See the photo tutorial on the last page.
C (yellow): Malabrigo Silky Merino 405 Sand – 10g
D (dark gray): Malabrigo Mechita 811 Eggplant – 3g
Heavier or lighter yarn weights can also be used for this pattern, though dimensions and yardage will change.
Size: diameter 30cm
Needles: Circular needles 3mm (50сm cable length); Double-edged needles 3mm; 1marker.
