Deep Rib Stitch
This deeply textured pattern is so easy to work, I’m surprised it’s not already in Ravelry’s stitch pattern section! It would make a cushy scarf or blanket. The reversible pattern has a 12-stitch, 2-row repeat with knit and purl stitches only. There are also 7 edge stitches. After a few rows, you won’t even need stitch markers because the pattern is so obvious. Feel free to alter the number of stitches in the repeats to meet your needs and consider uneven pleats!
The 43-stitch swatch is 7.5 inches wide at gauge (unblocked) when laid flat. Color is “Bay Leaf”.
Skills needed: cast on, slip, knit, purl and bind off in knit stitch.
Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any yarn/thread will work. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.
92 yards of Lion brand 24/7 yarn will make 10 inches of a 43-stitch-wide strip at stated gauge.
One skein of Lion brand 24/7 will make about 20 inches of that strip at gauge.
