This crochet pattern is for a men’s sweater with distinctive cable patterns and a deep v neckline. Crochet Cable is quite different to knitting cable, but easy to do. There are two types of cable pattern as the straight vertical lines turn to a 45 degree across the chest

The pattern offers plenty of information about positioning stitches, but you must be familiar with Front Post stitches before starting. The sweater is made with off shoulder sleeves with a flat join. The cable pattern continues down the sleeves.

This pattern is designed for larger sizes, from XL to 5 XL. The pattern includes details for customising the fit, including changes to length and three different sleeve widths.

The instructions are suitable for single colour or striped versions of the sweater.

The pattern was designed using Double Knit acrylic yarn, with a 4.5mm crochet hook. The garment is made in four pieces, and then sewn together. The instructions include lots of detail to ensure shaping is made easy. There is a lot of stretch in the finished item, so the sizing is only approximate.
