Deepwoods is a cardigan (or spring jacket) that has a wide ribbed collar, an optional one button closure, and simple, but lovely, cables. It is worked in one piece from the bottom up, separated for the armholes and then using short row sleeve caps the sleeves are worked down. The only seaming is at the shoulders.

Materials:
Masham Worsted by Lorna’s Laces (100% wool; 100g skein = approx 170 yards)
• 6 (7, 7, 7, 8, 8, 9, 9, 10) skeins Growth
• Approx yards: 960 (1030, 1125, 1185, 1270, 1335, 1410, 1485, 1575)
• One 29” circular (circ) needle size US 8 (5 mm). (pc is worked flat circ needle is used to accommodate large number of sts)
• One set of double pointed needles (dpns) size US 8 (5 mm). (for sleeves)
Or size to obtain gauge.
Notions
• Stitch markers (m)
• Large stitch holders or waste yarn
• (Optional) One 1” button and crochet hook
Gauge: 16 sts and 22 rows = 4” in Stockinette Stitch (St st).
