Deery Me Mittens
The Deery Me Mittens pattern is featured in the Stranded Colourwork Mittens course with instructor Caitlin Shepherd! Whether it is your first time knitting colourwork or knitting mittens, this course walks us through everything we need to do both successfully. Deery Me Mittens is an enDEERing winter knit. Stranded knitting in fingering yarn makes these mittens surprisingly light and warm and the classic stag-head patterning promises a stylish staple for anybody’s winter wardrobe.

Length from base of palm to fingertips: 7 1/4 (7 ¾)” / 18 (19.5) cm
Circumference around the widest portion of the hand: 8 (8 ½)” / 20 (21.5) cm
YARN
2 skeins SweetGeorgia Yarns BFL+Silk Fine, 1 each in Birch (MC) and Black Truffle (CC) (370 yd / 338 m per 3.5 oz / 100 g skein; 75% Bluefaced Leicester, 25% Silk).
Optional: 1 additional skein SweetGeorgia Yarns BFL+Silk Fine in Slate (CC2). Also shown in Sangria (MC) and Birch (CC), & Tumbled Stone (MC) and Marine (CC).

NEEDLES & NOTIONS
Size 3 US / 3.25 mm or 4 US / 3.5 mm circular needle, 24” / 60 cm long
Size 3 US / 3.25 mm or 4 US / 3.5 mm double-pointed needles, set of four
Adjust needle size if necessary to get the
correct gauge.
Scrap yarn or stitch holder, stitch markers, tapestry needle
GAUGE
For smaller size only: 32 sts and 38 rnds = 4” / 10 cm in stranded colourwork, after blocking.
For larger size only: 30 sts and 36 rnds = 4” / 10 cm in stranded colourwork, after blocking.
Please note that changes in gauge will also change yardage used and final measurements.
