Delancey Hat
A classic design like the Delancey Hat is the perfect opportunity to let an exquisite yarn take center stage. And the timeless textures of garter stitch and fisherman rib ensure that this hat is always in style.
This unisex hat is worked in one piece in the round from the brim upward. Cashmere yarn ensures that this hat is heavenly to wear, but any aran-weight yarn will work nicely. This is a great project for beginners, not only because the project knits up so fast with basic techniques, but also because it introduces the skills of knitting and purling into the row below. With a whimsical faux fur pom-pom to top things off, it’s impossible to knit just one of these hats!
Because this hat is very stretchy, be sure to choose a size that is at least a couple of inches smaller than your actual head circumference. The pattern includes sizes to fit everyone in the family! Please also note that the baby and child sizes share the same finished circumference but have different finished heights.
