Delaware River Mitts
A quick on the go project you can do in a wide range of colors to suit any outfit.
These mitts are the perfect accessory for your wanderings along the tow path when it’s just not quite warm enough to go without a little extra layer to keep your hands comfortable.
From the book, Cozy Coastal Knits…..
Between New Jersey and Pennsylvania, the Delaware River hugs the border on its journey to Wilmington, Delaware, and into the Atlantic Ocean. Two tow paths, long since abandoned for transport, can be used for hours of leisurely cycling along the banks of the river. In the spring, the river is alive with a bit of ice and the bounty of melting snow; it is the perfect time to visit, albeit a bit chilly in the mornings. Whether you decide to begin your journey where the Delaware starts up north in New York or closer to Point Breeze, New Jersey, the ride is well worth it. My favorite spot to start is in New Hope, Pennsylvania, not far from where George Washington crossed the Delaware one fateful Christmas Eve.
