Delia's Stained Glass Square
I’m not going to get into it here, because I talk about it in the introduction to my pattern. But this is a pattern based on a vintage square from a blanket I was restoring. I had to write a pattern while in the process of repairs, and a lot of people really liked the blanket, so I decided to share my pattern for FREE. Since I can’t really take credit for it being my original creation.
This would be great for scraps of yarn, as it uses very little to make the square, and you can even do each row in a different color!
Feel free to use this pattern for whatever you want. Make a blanket for yourself, for your friend, for a craft show. But please, don’t take credit for the pattern. Ultimately that credit goes to Delia, my friend’s grandmother, and the original creator of this blanket.
Honestly, this is one of my favorite things about crochet, that it is a folk art, and it is passed on from person to person. I want to encourage this tradition in as many ways as I can. This pattern is part of that!
