Delicate
Delicate is a top-down, seamless open front cardigan with pockets.
Upper back part is worked first from shoulders to the underarms, then the stitches of the fronts are picked up from the cast on edges of the back shoulders and fronts are worked to the underarms. The shoulders are shaped with short rows.
After the pieces of the upper body are complete back and fronts are joined together and body is worked in one piece to the hem.
The stitches of the sleeves are picked up around the armholes and they are worked in the round to the cuff.
The cardigan is knit in 3/1 rib pattern while the bands are worked simultaneously with the body in 1/1 rib pattern with slipped stitch edges.
The pocket linings are worked during finishing and then they are sewn in.
Worked with a light fingering weight yarn at a fairly loose gauge the result is an airy and drapey fabric. Choose a sport weight yarn for a firmer, less flowy fabric.
