The “Delicate Drift Shawl” is a deceptively easy pattern that creates a beautiful shawl. Knitted on oversized needles, the design works up quickly and creates a lacy, open pattern with fun, wavy edges.

This sample uses 2 skeins of Malabrigo “Washted” in colorway “Heirloom Vegetable.” Though this yarn is worsted weight, the pattern uses US 13 / 9mm needles (though some knitters went down a needle size to meet gauge) to accentuate the open lace pattern. The completed shawl measures 22” wide and 68” long after blocking.

This design would be easy to adapt to different yarn weights by changing needle size and perhaps adding another pattern repeat across.
