This pattern uses size 10 crochet thread and a size 5 (1.7 mm) steel hook).

The snowflake has a couple unusual twists that I have included to allow the piece to lay flat more easily and block more easily. Both are using a backloop stitch and are explained in the pattern.

It is necessary to do a detailed block of the piece in order to obtain the results seen in the picture.
