Delightful Dahlia Shawl
Craft: Crochet
Skill: Intermediate
Materials: approximately 840 yards of DK weight yarn, US H/5.0 mm hook (or hook needed to meet gauge), stitch markers (optional)
Final size: 71.5” at wingspan, 29.5” at center point
The Delightful Dahlia Shawl is worked from one end, increasing along one side until you reach the center point, where you will begin rapidly decreasing to the final point of the triangle. In this pattern, you will work rows of EHDC and crossed DC until the center point where you will then begin working mainly in EHDC with the exception of small details of crossed DCs. All stitches have written descriptions in the pattern and there are detailed photos that may be helpful when you are working your decreases along the second section of the shawl.
This pattern was thoroughly tested by a group of lovely crocheters who provided wonderful feedback to help make this pattern easy to understand and follow!
Note about yarn choice: EKF Rockies DK has a yardage of 274 yds/100g, which is slightly more than your average skein of DK weight yarn. In the sample, I used 306 g.
