The pattern is for a mini table mat worked in mosaic overlay crochet. It is suitable for mosaic beginners as long as you know crochet basics. The general notes explain how to do mosaic overlay crochet however, if you have not done it before, there are many YouTube videos available. It’s an easy method which is described in detail in the pattern. It uses basic crochet stitches and is worked from the right side only.

The pattern contains written instructions and a chart, marked with Xs and shows the left handed repeat. It is a 32 stitch pattern repeat.

The pattern can easily be used to make a blanket, scarf, cushion or other items. It contains information on how to increase the size of your project. The sample in the pattern was made using Sport weight yarn/4-5 Ply and a 3mm hook. It measures 28 x 28cm (11” x 11”). Any yarn can be used, however, the size of your project may change. When choosing yarn, it is important to choose contrasting colours so the pattern stands out. At least 2 colours are needed.
