Inspired by some Christmas themed balaclavas for dogs, I created a Christmas Elf Balaclava for my husband. He is a good sport when I need him to try on things. He did insist that the jingle bell be removed after posing.

To quote Firefly “A man walks down the street in that hat, people know he’s not afraid of anything”.

MATERIALS:
Smooth worsted weight yarn for neck, sides of head and ears – 3 3/8 oz
Wooly, fuzzy type yarn for cap brim and pom pom – model used Red Heart Baby Clouds – 1 ¼ oz
Smooth Worsted Weight or fuzzy yarn for top of cap – model used skein of Lion Brand Jiffy – 2 ¼ oz
Smooth Worsted Weight for ear hair – small amounts, less than 10 yards.
Size 10.5 knitting needles
