This pretty scarf knit in seed stitch with a wide lace edging is reversible and slightly curved to stay on your shoulders. The vintage lace edging is knit along with the seed stitch section so there is no need to go back and pick up stitches or sew the two pieces together. When you are done, you are done, except the ends and blocking of course. This knit has a lot going on so please read through the pattern before you cast on.

Gauge is not that important as this is not a fitted garment. Most worsted weight yarns will be appropriate. I would use a fibre that can be blocked so that the best features of the scarf will be shown.
