In 1982, Agnes Denes planted a two-acre wheat field on a landfill in Manhattan, just one block from Wall Street. “Wheatfield – A Confrontation” was a watershed moment in public art – a meditation on the tension between the manmade and the natural, and an experiment in urban farming that was 30 years ahead of its time. Our Denes sweater, worked in an undyed American Romney and Merino blend from Stone Wool, pays tribute to the rows of golden wheat Denes and her volunteers planted and harvested.
