Depth Charge is a BLAST of a shawl! Get ready to blast your winter away with a fun to knit shawl and some epic color combos!
The shawl features certain elements in certain combinations, and with certain shapes! It’s a mystery KAL, so you never know what you’ll get! Especially since it’s a Josh MKAL (TM pending… LOL!)
SCHEDULE:
Starting on the 16th of January, you will receive a new piece of the pattern every Saturday until the mystery is revealed! Here’s the schedule for the clues:
Saturday Jan. 2nd - Friday 15th : Sign-ups for the MKAL run!
Saturday Jan. 16th : Clue 1 and the kick off!
Saturday Jan. 23rd: Clue 2!
Saturday Jan. 30th : Clue 3!
Saturday Feb. 6th : Clue 4!

Each clue will be automatically be sent to you via Ravelry and will appear as a pattern update. To download the latest update, simply update the pattern in your library!

Share in-progress photos on Ravelry, but please use the mystery thumbnail photo or a photo of your un-knit yarn as the first photo on your project page to keep the mystery alive for those that do not wish to see it!

Also, as a courtesy to me, I would ask that you refrain from posting a photo with the pattern instructions. It is just to protect my design and I would really appreciate it! Thank you!

A discussion thread will be started in the geoknittrix designs group on Ravelry (http://www.ravelry.com/groups/geoknittrix-designs) for you to ask questions pertaining to the MKAL. There will also be a thread to post your in progress shots so you can share your project with everyone, chat with your fellow knitters, and see all those FAB projects as well!

Size: One size!
Recommended yarn: Three colors of fingering weight yarn. See below for color advice!
Yardage: Colors A-C: 400 yards (365 m) of each color minimum! The design plans on using all (or most!) of the yarn!
Needles: One set of 32-40” (80-100 cm) circular needles in US size 9/ 5.5 mm.
Gauge: 4 sts to the inch in Garter Stitch with the yarn held doubled.
Notions: Stitch markers, scissors, tapestry needle

ERRATA:
Wedge J:
Row 19 (RS): k3, sl3 sts back to left needle twice, k2, k2togtbl, sl3 sts back to left needle until you have 6 sts left.
Break both strands of COLOR A, leaving a long enough tail to graft the remaining 6 sts of the I-Cord together.
Graft the 6 remaining sts and weave in all ends.
