Desdemona Sweater
Low tide on the Columbia River reveals the Desdemona Sands, a shoal that divides the main channel, located near the Astoria-Megler Bridge. It was once a place where fishermen used horses for seine fishing, and there was even a lighthouse there atop huge pilings. The Desdemona Sweater is a short sleeve v-neck created from a textured yoke that is worked from cuff to cuff. The drapey stockinette body has a couple of inches of positive ease and ends at the natural waist for a relaxed fit.
Size:
XS (S, M, L, XL, 2X, 3X)
This sweater is designed to fit with 2-4” of positive ease. The measurements given are for the finished garment. Please select the size that is 2-4”/10-20cm larger than your measurement to achieve intended fit.
Finished circumference at bust:
32 (36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 56)”
81 (91, 102, 112, 122, 132, 142) cm
Yarn Weight: DK
A Note on Yarn: I used Berroco Remix Light (nylon, cotton, acrylic, silk, linen blend). This top would be beautiful knit in a wool blend that allows for some drape in the body. Also, the yoke is knit sideways, so that may be something to consider if looking at highly variegated or striping color ways.
Approximately Yardage:
