Desert Rose Bonsai
The Desert Rose Bonsai has been on my to-do list for quite some time now. I thought Mother’s Day would be the perfect time to release such a beautiful and meaningful arrangement.
I must say, learning the story behind each and every bloom is one of the best parts of designing for me. It allows me to learn things I have never known and brings me closer to the bloom itself. This only makes the designing part much more interesting.

Desert Rose Fun Facts
•Did you know this beautiful plant is actually succulent?
•The Chinese named this plant the “flower of wealth”, believing it brings good fortune and the caudex (swollen stem base) represents fertility.
•The Desert Rose is a slow-growing plant (gaining less than 12 inches per year)
•Unfortunately, this beauty, Adenium is also known as Desert Rose is included in the list of plants considered dangerously toxic to humans, dogs, cats, and horses. The plant is known to contain potent toxins that can turn out to be lethal if ingested in large amounts.
•The desert rose trunk swells to conserve moisture for times of drought. A nice fat trunk is an indicator of plant health. A skinny stem can indicate that the plant requires more moisture.
•Desert Rose are sun-loving plants.
