As my partner travels the Southwestern US and into Mexico, I’m at the receiving end of some truly glorious pictures. The massive elevation changes and landscapes ranging from desert to dense green forests, the inspiration bug had bit and thus, this hat had to be knit.

Desert Valley Nights is a relaxed beanie designed to be an introduction to colorwork with short, intuitive and easily memorable repeats. There are 2 charts included and the brim has been calculated and written for multiple options: folded brim or single and either 1x1 or 2x2 ribbing.

Sizes:
(S, M, L, XL) to fit head with (17, 19, 21, 23)“ in circumference.

Ease
One inch of negative ease is built into the pattern.

Yarn Amounts:
MC: 45 (50, 65, 70) grams
CC: 10 (15, 20, 25) grams

These amounts have a 10% buffer and are for a double brim. You will use less yarn if making a single brim.

A great pattern for either last minute gifting or to hone your two-handed knitting skills!

Happy Knitting~
