This shawl is rated intermediate because you must make choices. There are 2 different stitch patterns and 2 different borders. Mix and Match as you like. It’s a lot easier then you think.

It has both written instructions and charts. Each shawl will be unique to your choices. If you like colorwork or not, acrylic yarn or not, lace weight or not – it doesn’t matter! This pattern adapts easily. There is optional beading. It’s all about YOU choosing your own design within the choices you are given in the pattern. YOU are the Diva of Design!

I recommend you start with 450 yards (for a shawlette) and the hook of your choice. There is no gauge. This pattern is suited for any weight from lace weight to DK. The larger you want your shawl to be then the more yarn it will take.

This shawl is designed to work well with lace weight, fingering, sport, baby, or DK. 450 yards for a shawlette up to 1000 yards if you want a generous shawl. The yardage is going to depend on you. Heavier yarn is going to require more yardage.
