Design Your Own Charted Lace Short Row Shawl!
You’ve seen Waiting for Rain, and probably The Rain Outside, and maybe even After The Rain. They all use a unique new method of charting lace inside short rows. Design Your Own Charted Lace Short Row Crescent Shawl is just the recipe (and a few blank charts) for you to do it yourself!
Draw in your own lace pattern with a pencil and start to knit away.
Join me from Oct 5th to Nov 5th for the very fist Softsweater Knits DAL (Design-Along!).
I’ll be supporting those of you who are wanting to design your very own Waiting for Rain style shawl. There will be knitting and chatting and questions answered! Come join in the Softsweater Knits Group here on Ravelry!
Although this pattern includes instructions for how to knit a crescent shawl as the base - this technique of charted lace short rows could be applied to any shawl shape. If you’re interested in shawl shapes - Francoise Danoy of Aroha Knits has developed an amazing shawl shape resource Forming Shawls and Their Charts. For those who aren’t crazy using the crescent shawl shape there are many many other options.
