Are you tired of cold, windy, rainy, or snowy days with everything looking bleak and gray? Do you feel like you need and deserve a vacation? Not just a few days off, but a real, exciting, rejuvenating vacation of a life time?

If so, then don’t waste any more time and hurry to join me for the epic knit-along adventure to Destination – Vacation!

Here’s your chance to take your knitting needles to where you always wanted to travel but never had the time or resources to go.

The whole world is waiting for you, and the best part – you can do it on a dime!

Through the duration of the MKAL you can get the pattern for only $2.50 USD (no coupon needed).

But wait, there’s more! I designed this pattern to be knit entirely from leftovers and scraps. So, I encourage you to dig deep into your stash for leftovers and skeins too small for any full mitten or sock. Bring out as wide a pallet as you can find because our adventure is bound to be colorful!

All aboard, my friends, let’s have some FUN!

Oh, and let’s not forget to thank the AMAZING test-knitters without whom this adventure would not be possible. My sincere gratitude goes to Mitt and Juliemross. You totally rock!!! ♥♥♥

Materials
Please, note that the suggested needle size, yarn amounts, and gauge are for women size medium. For more suggestions about sizing read the notes section. Also, only an approximate total amount of yarn is given as there will be multiple options provided, and the exact amount of each color is impossible to calculate.
• US Size 0 (2mm) set of dpns or circular needles (for Magic Loop method)
• Fingering weight yarn – 231y/50 g (211m/50g). You will need about 280y/60g total.
• Tapestry needle (for adding small details in duplicate stitch and/or embroidery - most of it is optional)
• Small beads, sequins and/or buttons (optional)

Notes

Mind that this recommendations are approximate as the size will also depend on your individual gauge.

  • Size: The mittens start with 60 stitches for the ribbing and increase to 70 stitches after the gusset is completed. For size S/M: use light fingering and US 0 (2mm) or US 1 (2.25mm). For M/L: use fingering and US 1 ½ (2.5mm). For L: use sport and US 1 ½ (2.5mm). For XL: use DK and US 2 (2.75mm) or US 2 ½ (3mm).

  • Stranded colorwork: Follow the charts from right to left. Make sure to catch longer floats using preferred method.

  • Construction: The mittens have a gusset construction.

  • Finishing: If desired, additional details can be added using duplicate stitch technique or embroidery. Other materials, like beads, sequins or small buttons can be incorporated either as you go, or after the knitting is completed (suggestions will be provided in each clue).

Now we are ready to pack our bags and suitcases!
