This a knitting pattern for fingerless mitts. They measure approximately 4- 5 inches from your thumb up your arm. They feature lace stitch patterns on both sides of the mitts, with a ribbing center for shaping. (The stitches are both charted and written out ‘line by line“. )The mitts also have a thumb gusset to ensure the best fit, and allow you to type or text and keep warm at the same time. One size fits most, as a result of the lateral give, but there are tips for changing the size within each pattern. These mitts are made using two circular needles, and a heavy weight sock yarn.
They require under 1 skein of most socks yarns. The one pictured here was made with under one skein of Handmaiden/Fleece Artists Casbah yarn, in colorway, Clouds (solid). Should you want to make them “fuzzy”, you can either use a very, very light weight fingering yarn/lace weight with the mohair silk, or drop your needle size significantly to obtain gauge.
Skill Level: Intermediate, assuming good working knowledge of lace knitting..
The Mitts were expertly tested by ljs48
