K2e = knit two edge stitches, ie, knit the first and last two stitches of every row. I apologize for any confusion this abbreviation has caused!

The asymmetrical, top-down triangle is my favorite blank canvas in knitting design. With that shape in mind, a cup of tea, and stitch dictionaries in hand, I’m ready to look for and find inspiration.

Devil’s Pocket is a beautiful swirl of textures and colors: the Textured Chevron stitch is easy to read as it’s being worked and intuitive to knit, and the Garter Eyelet section at the end is quick and simple.

The Textured Chevron section is both written and charted, and the Garter Eyelet section is written.

You will need 442 yards of fingering weight yarn in Color A and 221 yards of fingering weight yarn in Color B. The sample shown is worked in Finch by Quince & Co. in Audouin (Color A) and Damson (Color B).

A US size 5 (3.75mm) 32” needle is recommended. Exact gauge is not crucial. Use a needle size that gives you a fabric you like, but be aware that a change in gauge can affect the amount of yarn used and the size of the finished shawl.

The finished measurements are a wingspan of 55.25” after blocking and a center depth of 24” after blocking. Finished measurements may vary depending on gauge, needle size, and how aggressively you block the shawl.
