Devon is a light-weight, transition-weather tank that can be dressed up for work, or dressed down for casual wear. It’s perfect work-wear for spring and fall where the days are warm but you still want a little warmth for the early morning commute.

Note: I knit tightly, so the gauge on this sweater is much smaller than recommended for Devon wool. Adjust needle size accordingly for your own personal tension.

To adjust height of neckline:
Follow pattern as written until instructions to divide for front and back. Then divide front and back after 13.5” (34 cm) as foll:

Knit to 11 (12, 14) sts before marker, BO 22 (24, 28) sts, k to 11 (12, 14) sts before second marker, BO 22 (24, 28) sts. Place rem 90 (102, 112) sts on holder for back, and work back using directions in pattern for Upper Back.

Adjusted Front:
K back and forth in st st until neck edge is adjusted to desired height. As an example, 2” (5 cm) extra will be about 20 rows. To prepare neck shaping, with RS facing, k 24 (27, 30) sts, BO 42 (48, 52) sts for front neck, and k rem 24 (27, 30) sts. Foll patt directions for Upper Front as written.
