Dewdrops on Azaleas
More exploration with cables! Cables lead the way across this side-to-side trapezoid shaped shawl. A simple change to the background stitch keeps it interesting throughout and opens up the work to make this a lovely lacy shawl perfect for warming weather. Oh, and don’t forget the beautiful beads you have the option of adding to further make this an unforgettable piece!
Gauge is not essential for this piece. Change the size by changing hook size/type of yarn. Or, use the charts to guide you as you make it larger/smaller. Sample shown is blocked to 72 inches across and 16 inches deep.
Pattern calls for 2 skeins of KnitPicks Hawthorne in the Lovejoy color-way, or @700 yds of similar fingering/2 weight yarn.
F/3.75mm hook needed.
350 #6 beads-- sample shown uses 3 bottles of Toho Premium Japanese beads in 1952-26 color
Please be familiar with the ghost stitch technique for making cables to get the pictured results. A free tutorial is found on my ravelry designer’s page at
