Dexterity means as much as finesse, mastery and proficiency. In other words, that you are quite skilled in doing something.

I wanted to design a stranded knitting shawlpattern, that goes just a bit further than most. Using shapes that are more playful and aren’t repeated as often as in traditional patterns.
That finesse and skill are needed to keep your tension right. The pattern color is often carried for 30 to 40 stitches, sometimes even double that amount. Therefore it isn’t suited as your first stranded knitting pattern, but it’s great when you’re looking for a new challenge!

Gauge is not essential for this pattern

You need 455 grams (appr. 2250 meters) of Shetland wool to make this shawl. Details about colors and amounts can be found in the pattern.
Of course you can also choose your own colors or decide to use yarn with a long color repeat, such as Scheepjes Invicta Colour, Ullcentrum or Kauni (possibly with a solid color as the patterncolor).
Sockwool, like Invicta, can be knit on 3,5mm / US 4 needles. Ullcentrum and Kauni are a bit thicker and are better knit on 4mm / US 6 needles. Take note that you will then need more meters of yarn and that your shawl will become bigger.

With this pattern you will find two color charts. One has the entire chart on one page. If you like to use your tablet when knitting, this chart can easily be imported in KnitCompanion. If you prefer a paper chart, you can print the enlarged chart and tape the parts together.

Ik wilde graag een inbrei-patroon maken dat nét een beetje verder gaat dan de meesten. Met vormen die wat speelser zijn en niet zo vaak herhaald worden als in de traditionele patronen.
Die handigheid en bedrevenheid, die heb je nodig om de draadspanning goed te houden. De patroonkleur moet vaak over wel 30 tot 40 steken meegevoerd worden, soms zelfs over het dubbele. Niet geschikt dus als eerste inbrei-project, maar wel voor wie een nieuwe uitdaging zoekt!

Voor deze omslagdoek is de steekverhouding niet essentieel.

Om deze omslagdoek te breien heb je 455 gram (ongeveer 2250 meter) Shetland wol nodig. Details over kleuren en hoeveelheden vind je terug in het patroon.
Je kunt natuurlijk ook je eigen kleuren kiezen of gaan voor garen met een lang kleurverloop zoals Scheepjes Invicta Colour, Ullcentrum of Kauni (evt. met effen garen voor de patroonkleuren). Sokkenwol, zoals de Invicta, kun je gewoon op nld. 3,5 breien. Ullcentrum en Kauni zijn wat dikker en kun je beter op nld. 4 breien. Houd er rekening mee dat je dan wel meer meters garen nodig hebt en dat de omslagdoek ook wat groter wordt.
