DFTBA means “Don’t Forget To Be Awesome!” John Green of the Vlogbrothers (and best selling author!) featured my scarf design on his December 3, 2013, vlog about trademark. He said it was AWESOME! Who owns DFTBA? Isn’t that Awesome of him? Yes, it is! :) Thank you, John and Hank!

This double knit scarf is especially challenging because of the lettering, which is different on each side as you knit. But don’t fear challenge - think how good you will feel when you conquer this thing!
A ruffle all around makes this pattern Extra Super Awesome. But you can leave it off, too, and the scarf still looks great.
You will need one to two skeins each of two colors of lace weight yarn - approximately 440 yards weighing 50 grams. I used KnitPicks Gloss Lace, which is affordable, soft (a merino wool and silk blend) and warm while still being lightweight.
