Summer is still here, but why not start thinking about the fall and fall knits. This is an easy-to-do project that knits quickly and it will be great for cool autumn evenings.

This project uses one cake of yarn, or 300 meters of any Aran weight yarn. The cowl is knitted on 5 mm/US 8 needles, and the pattern is easy to memorize. The cowl is knitted flat, folded in half and sewn at the cast-on and bind-off edges.

It has a garter edge on each side so it doesn’t curl, and the cowl is long enough to wrap twice around your neck. If you want it to wrap only once around the neck, make the cowl shorter with less yarn.
