This is a pattern for knitting a stuffed toy deer. You can knit the deer on 2 needles or in the round. Both methods are included in the description. The beige part between the eyes is made with a duplicate knit stitch.

NOTE (for working knit and purl rows): edge stitch (first stitch in each row) - slip the first stitch without working it (unless otherwise stated). This helps with sewing the toy later. The number of stitches in each row includes the edge stitch.

MATERIALS: cream and beige DK yarn approximately:
20 - 30 g in each color
Handful brown for the hooves and red
for the scarf. String of black strong
thread for the nose.

KNITTING GAUGE:
24 sts and 28 rows to 10 x 10 cm = 4” x 4” in stocking stitch (knit row on right side, purl row on wrong side) and 2.5 mm needles.

Gauge is not critical for this project. Work tight enough to make sure the stuffing would not show through the stitches.
