The pattern is $5.00 for pre KAL registration. Once the Games begin it will go up to $7.00

“Diabolical” is a triangular shawlette worked from three different directions. (Although not necessarily all at once….)

Please look at the blue pics to the left. Note how mangled the pattern looks at the end of section2, this is perfect! Now look at the finished pic of the same blue Diabolical after being blocked - it’s magic!

The whole pattern (written in 3 separate parts) will be released on the morning of July 27th so you can be ready to cast on during the Opening Ceremonies if you are using it for the Ravellenic Games.

“Diabolical” qualifies for the following events:
Balance beads (beads are optional and can be added to the final section at your own risk)
Holiday Hurdles - gift giving
Single Skein Sprint - you will need a minimum of 480 yds, check your yardages on those single skeins
hint: one Wolle’s100gram skein is perfect
Scarf Hockey - as it is a neck thingie it also qualifies here
Shawl Sailing - this is a small shawl/shawlette/scarflette/neckerchief/neck wrap thingie…. If you want to make it a full sized shawl you will need to go up to sport weight
Synchnronized Stash Busting - yarn must be 1+ years old

There will be a supporting KAL for “Diabolical” on the Criminal Knits group as well as video links in the appropriate KAL thread.

This pattern is suitable for an intrepid beginner.
It has been test knit multiple times and is correct as written. (yes, it is a little…Diabolical but it all works out in the end!)

This pattern is written line by line. There are no charts due to the nature of the beast.

Materials:
Wolle’s Color Changing Cotton 100 grms, 480 yds
or
The Unique Sheep, Big Foot 600 yds, choose a 6 skein gradience set in the yarn of your choice. (Be sure to select Big Foot and a six skein option)
or
a long slow color changing fingering weight yarn of your choice, 480 - 600 yds.
Size 6 circular needles, 24” and 40” (you will need both lengths)
Stitch markers (21 total)
Tapestry Needle

Okay… BEADS for DIABOLICAL:

You will need 369 beads, if you want to bead and IF you bead both sections that could be beaded. There are two sections that alternate so you could use different colored beads on every other section, OR, you could skip a section and just bead every other one.

Again, the ONLY section that can be beaded is the last one. This will also be the last third or so of your yarn so that should help you decide which color you would like to end with!
