Diagonal Lace Cowl
This airy cowl is created by a series of yarn overs lined up on the diagonal. There is no dropping of stitches involved. The lace pattern is edged on the top and bottom with a seed stitch border.
This cowl has a lovely drape and looks great either worn as a single loop or doubled closer to the neck.
It is a perfect one-skein project for a pretty skein of hand dyed DK weight yarn. It could easily be adapted to make it wider using two skeins and more repeats of the pattern.
A fairly simple and quick knit, the pattern is easy to memorize and fun to work up.
A good aggressive blocking really shows off the open detail of the diagonal lace.
Gauge is not essential for fit, but yardage requirements may change if your gauge is different from that used in the samples.
