This is a relatively quick and easy top-down shawl. It utilizes one skein of Madeline Tosh Merino Light. Feel free to substitute other fingering weight yarns.

I designed this shawl with MTL in mind as I love love love this yarn!

There is a sister pattern to Diamante II. The difference between the two shawls is the upper treatment of the neck and shoulder area. This pattern begins with a good amount of diagonal mesh before the actual patterned lace, whereas Diamante II begins with stockinette and then progresses to lace.

The pattern is charted with some written instructions. You must be able to knit from charts in order to use this pattern. Basic knitting and lace stitches are used : knit, purl, k2tog, p2tog, ssk, sk2p, and only RS rows are charted.

Finished and block dimensions : approximately 64” x 30”
