Jökulsárlón is a popular glacial lagoon located in south eastern Iceland that is filled with meltwater and icebergs that break off from the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier. These icebergs either drift out to sea or end up on the shore, where they shimmer against the backdrop of the black sand – hence the name, “the Diamond Beach”. The beanie is named after this magical place. The brim is formed of overlapping triangles, reminiscent of icebergs floating in the lagoon. As the icebergs continue their journey, they speckle onto the dark shore, contrasting against the dark background, as in this hat. It is a design that may test your skills, but when it comes together, it feels like you’ve done a bit of magic, crafting a beautiful landscape onto your crown.

This is an advanced intermediate level pattern. The pattern is written in standard US crochet terms.
