The cowl is knitted flat using either a long tail cast-on or a provisional cast-on.

If using a long tail cast-on, you will close up the cowl by sewing the cast on and bind off ends together using your preferred method.

If you use the provisional cast-on, you have your choice of either closing the cowl with a 3- needle bind-off or using the Kitchener method to graft the ends for a seamless cowl.

The pattern incorporates a 3 stitch I-cord edging at both ends.

The pattern has a 4 stitch repeat so if you are modifying the pattern, add or subtract 4 stitches to make your cowl wider or narrower.

The stitch pattern looks great on solid, semi-solid or variegated yarns such as Malabrigo worsted.

Gauge: 4 1/2 sts to 1”

Size: 12” high x 24” around

If modifying the pattern to make it longer or wider, please remember you will need more yardage to complete your project.
